WHO ARE WE?
Marbrerie Bertrand, with a 120-year old heritage, is a true family business that evolved from a small workshop to a full-service stonemason covering stone sourcing, manufacturing, installation and project management.
Marbrerie Bertrand was founded by the Bertrand brothers in 1902 as a sculpture workshop in the village of Munsbach. Since then, each generation of the Bertrand family has further developed and diversified the company’s activities. Today, Martine Bertrand, Marc Bertrand and Stéphane Lenert lead the company.
Who we are
Marbrerie Bertrand sources, processes, and installs natural stone. We source directly from quarries and suppliers all around the world. We keep an extensive stock on our 3.000 m2 stone yard and welcome our clients in a showroom displaying the wide variety of natural stones available in the world. We process the stones for our projects in our 2.500 m2 workshop in Munsbach.
We have a diverse team, speaking over 10 languages, and offering a diverse & international know-how. This helps us source stone internationally, adopt the best building practices from around the world, and serve our customers in the best way possible.

As a family business that has existed for over 120 years, at the heart of our company’s values are our commitment to sustainability, craftsmanship and social responsibility
Our design principles are defined by our aim to deliver durability, sustainability and timelessness. Well-maintained natural stone embodies these principles by lasting for multiple generations. While stone as a construction material has already a low carbon emission footprint, we are committed to go further. In our pursuit of sustainability, we installed solar panels to power our workshop and are conducting CO2 footprint analyses to achieve our goal of becoming a Net Zero company in the coming years.
We continuously modernize our workshop, and invest in training young generations of stonemasons. That way, Marbrerie Bertrand preserves its heritage, knowhow and social responsibility.
Commitment to sustainability
- Our stone slabs are guaranteed 100% natural (no chemical treatment)
- The electricity that powers our showroom and our workshop comes from photovoltaic panels
- We recycle our waste water and waste
- We are identified SDK, a label awarded by the Administration of the Environment, the Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Crafts
